Resume writing tips for Freshers

First of all let us congratulate you for successfully completing graduation.

I think the next step might be start looking for a job. So what is needed here? A good resume that speaks about you, that markets your skills and expertise. Are you wishing for a resume that makes you stand apart from the crowd, a resume that gives you a competitive edge over your fellow mates. Well! there is a famous saying “First Impression Is The Last Impression”, this sounds true for a Resume.

Let us help you in suggesting few tips to make your resume noticeable.

Tip1 - "Use effective titles that matches the job you want"
It takes 5 seconds for the prospective employer to decide and give a call for the interview. So, with in these 5 seconds you have to grab the attention. Try to be as descriptive as possible, use bullet points and short sentences to describe your experiences, educational background and professional objectives.

Tip2- "Use powerful keywords"
Most companies (even smaller ones) are already using digital databases to search for candidates. This means that the HR department will run search queries based on specific keywords. Guess what, if your resume doesn’t have the keywords related to the job you are applying for, you will be out even before the game starts. These keywords will usually be nouns. Check the job description and related job ads for a clue on what the employer might be looking for and then start writing your resume.

Tip3-"Highlight your Achievements"
Resumes that include long list of responsibilities is boring; instead mention some achievements in your college/school or any sports achievements.

Tip4- "Customize your Resume"
Tailor your resume according to employer and company.  Don’t give the same resume to all the job openings

Tip5- "Avoid wrong information"
Don’t mention any wrong information in your resume. Apart from being wrong, most HR departments do background checks these days, and if you are buster it might ruin your credibility for good.

Tip6- "Typography"
Use Verdana font and font size 12 in your resume. This is the font mostly preferred.

Tip7- "Avoid fancy designs"
Don’t use any fancy designs or pictures in the background. Keep it in white color.

Tip8- Copying Sample resume templates
There are many sample resume templates websites, but don’t copy the same things, edit it and keep your words and your skills.

Tip9- "Proofread it twice"
Read it your self for two times as one small mistake may reduce the chances of getting a call for the interview.

Tip10- "Prioritize your resume content"
For a fresher, write your projects/ internships, educational back ground, first and then skills. But for an experienced person, mention your past experience, education and then skills.
